Full Adventures

While my intention with this blog was to focus on short, easy-to-implement encounters; I knew I’d eventually want to write a few module-style adventures. Below are any full adventures I’ve penned for “Save Vs Weekend”

Summer’s Set – 1st Level Adventure

“Summer’s Set” is a short adventure for first level characters built in the style of the Dungeons & Dragons: Encounters seasonal in-store play events that Wizards of the Coast has been hosting for a while. The encounters are quick and fun, if unsophisticated.
In the adventure, the players portray a group of wanderers plying their trade in the beautiful and prosperous city of Summerset. They are quickly thrown on the trail of a conspiracy to kill the king – a trail that will lead them to a footchase through the city, haunted fort, and finally across the sea to the remote island exile. A powerful white dragon is plotting to bring eternal winter to the summer city, and it’s up to the PCs to stop him. The adventure features several combat encounters of various types (both on land and at sea) and two skill challenges.
There isn’t a lot of plot or exploration in order to keep the players focused and moving from one goal to another. The adventure was written this way due to the time constraints and player availability issues I faced when running it at a weekend long event. It has been mostly play-tested, and winds up being a bit too easy with the full 6 possible players – so consider beefing up challenges if there are a lot of folks at your table. Included are character sheets for the pre-generated characters used in the adventure (which was written with these characters in mind).

“Summer’s Set” might not be the best adventure to run for your ongoing campaign, but makes for a perfect one-shot event or as an introduction for new players.

And of course, the pre-generated characters:

Eladrin Paladin
Halfling Druid
Vryloka Ranger
Half-Orc Barbarian
Human Wizard
Satyr Bard

Errata: Naturally, in my haste to publish the adventure, i neglected to include stats for the new monster the adventure features. Ignore mention of the Fiendish Kraken Hatchling and Hatchling Tentacle stats being at the end of the adventure, they are instead presented here:
